The Car

Driving to Mongolia and back didn’t seem like a challenge enough for us foolhardy men at GK Garages so we have decided to make our lives more difficult by choosing a to tackle this adventure in a classic car! There is a tiny bit of method to the madness, if the car is simply made, it will be simple to fix. Also (and more importantly) we are not driving to some of the most beautiful places on Earth in a sh*tty little Micra!

So yes, the decision was made, a classic car was a must but we had no idea what. Until one dark and stormy night, after hours of trawling the mysterious world of eBay, our eyes fell upon the perfect vehicle. A legendary British car company with (albeit limited) rally pedigree. With classic 60’s styling, lashings or chrome and a “sporty” engine that is technically against the rules but everyone knows it isn’t rallying if you aren’t cheating! So a deal was done and GK Garages had a trusted vehicle for the 2023 Mongol Rally.
